What is Fitnah?

Terms and word definitions as they relate to Islam.

What is Fitnah?

Belief in polytheism.

Worshiping others besides, or in addition to, Allaah

I have also noticed, in addition to what you listed, in some cases fitnah seems to refer to a trial or temptation of/to a Muslim.

The trial or temptation does not always seem to be related to deities.

For instance a muslim being addicted to watching risque shows.
