What is 'awrah?

Terms and word definitions as they relate to Islam.

What is 'awrah?

Awrah or Aurat refers to the parts of body, for both men and women, which must be covered with clothing when in public - exposing the Awrah areas is unlawful in Islam and it is regarded as sin.
