What is a Makir?

Makir - one who devises a secret scheme against someone else. Synonyms would be cheating, defrauding, double-crossing, deceiving, tricking

also see:

Makara - to deceive, delude, cheat, dupe, gull, double cross, to try to deceive

Makr – cunning, craftiness, slyness, wiliness, double-dealing, deception, trickery

Makkar (makur) – cunning, sly, crafty, wily, shrewd, crafty person, imposter, swindler

Al-Makr – deviousness

- - -

In all fairness some groups say that the negative definitions of these words is only one of the possible translations. Explaining that the result of the makara (deceitful) action can also be positive.

Or that the terms could refer to the planner not the action itself.

Most of the definitions I used came from Hans Wehr dictionary
