What is Wahabbi?

Wahhabi (Wah-ha-bye-ya) or Wahhabism is a name given to people who strictly follow Muhammad ibn Abd-al-Wahhab.

Wahhabism is a conservative Islamic sect based on the teachings of Muhammad ibn Abd-al-Wahhab, an 18th century scholar from what is today known as Saudi Arabia, who advocated to purge Islam of what he considered innovations in Islam.
