What is khaleefah?

Terms and word definitions as they relate to Islam.

What is khaleefah?

Also spelled Caliphate, caliph, calif, kaliph, kalif, khalif, khalifah isthe civil and religious leader of Islam and is considered to be a representative of Allah on earth.

There are several groups that seem to believe that a Khalifah (soon to come into power) will unite all Islamic lands and people and subjugate the rest of the world.
